Nr. 184. A small Swiss ‘tabatière’, musical snuffbox with pastoral scene, circa 1840-50.
Small dainty box with copper colored pastoral scene, trees in the foreground, five sheep and herdsmen, afar a castle on the hill and a row of houses. The box with cylinder and comb plays two airs. On the lid is written: Edingburgh From ....(word not readable). Two switches for on/off and repeat/change. Winds at the bottom. Two very refined sounding tunes. HWD 2,5x9,5x6cm.
