In1849 in Bergen (Mons) born painter Victor Bauffe Hague was a real Scholer, who received his education at the Hague Academy. He worked almost entirely in the style of his friend and mentor Weissenbruch JH (father and teacher of WJ Weissenbruch) with whom he often went together into the fields to find beautiful hardwood cuttings that were recorded in watercolors and oils. His watercolors are sometimes better almost similar to that of Weissenbruch that without the signature difference is difficult to see. Bauffe Victor died in 1921 in The Hague. Bauffe was particularly strong in depicting dramatic skies in beautiful colors, the mood of the weather remain faithful.
Work of this artist is found in such museums in The Hague, Haarlem and Den Bosch.
