Petrus Bernardus (Ben) Viegers 1886 to 1947, the painter Ben Viegers lived and worked in The Hague until 1938, Nunspeet 1938-1940, Bakkum to 1942, Hilversum until 1943 and then in Nunspeet. Transformed itself. Painted landscapes, cityscapes, ocean and harbor views, still lifes and flowers, markets, beach and dunes, (flower) bulbs and cornfields.
Are Viegers was probably more a self-taught. One of his rare trips abroad made Viegers Jaap Hiddink and Henk van Leeuwen to Normandy and Brittany, where he was a hint of Southern temperament and un-Dutch light could experience.
Mediterranean atmosphere it intuition, never personally underwent. He painted fond of outdoor, did the landscapes and city views at first hand and had his vote honestly testify to the artistic process of impressions. Where possible, he often expressionist accents careful observations and perceptions were thus a glowing look. The experiences with light and color were Viegers least as important as the craft aspects of the artist as smooth and deft brushwork style. In 2001 a monograph entitled Viegers' appeared.
