The rectangular giltwood frame is carved with motifs that were much favoured during the age of Neoclassicism. The corners show rosettes caught in squares and there is richly carved laurel at the bottom. The top is surmounted with a medaillion which is surrounded with draped foliate, wineleaves and grapes and is crowned by a large knot.

Within the medallion is a plaque depicting a youth playing a Lyre in white agains a blue backgroud. These colours give the impression of the famous Jasperware that Wedgewood started to manifature during the same period.
