Robert Noortman founded the gallery in 1968. William Noortman, his son, now continues its direction.

Noortman Master Paintings sells to important private collectors and museums. The Notable Sales section surveys many of the important acquisitions made by museums. Our company is a major benefactor of The National Gallery, London, the Rijksmuseum, Amsterdam and the Mauritshuis, The Hague. Noortman Master Paintings and the National Gallery created The Noortman Room, housing important Dutch cabinet paintings. We sponsor Delineavit et Sculpsit, the only periodical focusing on Dutch and Flemish Old Master prints and drawings.

Noortman Master Paintings estimates collections and paintings. We offer scholarly research to our clients through our art historical faculty. We have an excellent network throughout the art world, from which our clients benefit as they build their collections, both from a research and acquisition perspective. We also help with restoration and maintenance of paintings.
