A good and impressive late Louis XIV boulle inlaid Religieuse mantel clock with richly ormolu mounted bronzes signed C Bonneual a Paris.

The strong Classic Louis XIV Influenced good looking strong case - this design of the case was very popular in this period. The 4 carriatides on the four sides and the well proportioned hood of the clock, with the rich decorated gilded finials on the top. 

The imposing dial with blue and white cartouches. Roman nrs for the hours and Arabic for the minutes.

A nice detailed figural bronze under the dial makes the clock very important. Blue steeled hands. The striking 8-day movement on countwheel .Verge escapement . Silk thread suspension .
