Clock movement with verge escapement and short pendulum. The clock runs by its own weight along the vertical rack. Winding by pushing the clock upwards and the gravity keeps it running. Dial is made of solid silver, the outer rim decorated with engravings, signature maker ‘Osthalder in Wien’. The brass base is weighted with lead to guarantee stability, as is the housing of the timepiece. Duration: 1 day. The clock is an example of fine craftsmanship and elegance. A timepiece in very good condition. Ludwig Osthälder was master clockmaker from 1804 until 1853, apprentice form Johann Rau, finised his apprentiship in 1795. HxD: 23x8 cm. € 8.500,--
