Attractive and rare Dutch provincial hood clock. The movement of day duration has hour hour striking and alarm on a bell.

The 24-cm painted iron dial has a turquoise ground with a white chapter ring with Roman numerals and Arabic five-minute marking. The foliate pierced hands and alarm disc are made of brass. In the centre is a date aperture. The spandrels are decorated with beautifully painted plumes and scrolls.

The movement is driven by a weight on a Huygens endless chain and is of short duration. It is unusually shallow, has beautifully twisted pillars and a so-called double attic. It is regulated by anchor escapement in combination with a pendulum. The clock has half-hour striking on a bell by means of a countwheel. The alarm is mounted on the top plate of the movement and strikes on the bell.

The moulded oak case has a hood surmounted by a broken tympanum with an urn finial. There is a glazed door at the front and narrow windows at the sides. The short shaped tail has a lenticle with gilt lead ornament.
