One of the oldest family art dealing businesses in Europe, Douwes Fine Art was founded in 1770 and registered in Amsterdam in 1805. The main gallery is Amsterdam, and there is an affiliation in London and Hong Kong. The present owners are the seventh and eighth generation. The gallery specialises in five centuries of art: Dutch and Flemish Old Masters from the 16th and 17th century, including original Rembrandt etchings, the Dutch 19th century Romantic School, the French 19th century, Barbizon School and Post-Impressionist and Russian Social-Realist paintings between 1930 and 1980.
