Wonderful large Chinese Famille verte porcelain charger.

Made during the reignperiod of emperor Kangxi (1662-1722).

Nice decoration, the center with a Buddhist lion eyeing birds and butterflies in flight, alternating lotus and ruyi-head panels at the well, trellis and foliate panels at the rim, the reverse with a band of scrolling lotus vine and sacred fungus within a double circle in underglaze blue.

A comparable pair is sold at Christie's New York, 25 januari 2011, lot 4.
