This unique porcelain table piece, called "Expanding Space" was made in memory of Benno Premsela. Premsela was an important figure in 20th-century design and a member of the gay community who actively campaigned for emancipation and tolerance.
The Dutch ceramicist Babs Haenen, who was a good friend of Premsela, made this piece as a memorial. Blue and white refer to the Netherlands and to water, pink to Premsela's favorite color and the design refers to Premsela's fabrics. The piece is signed.
