square brass dial with engraved silvered chapter ring signed Huygens Amsterdam, finely foliate pierced engraved hands with alarm disc, matted centre with ringed winding holes and apertures for date and moonphase with day of the mooncycle, fine foliate cherub spandrels, weight driven month going movement with anchor escapement and rack striking on a bell, alarm on a bell, stepped cushion top to the mulberry veneered case with ebony mouldings and foliate pierced frets surmounted by three finials, pillars flanking the glazed door, long rectangular door to the trunk with annular lenticle, square base on a moulded plinth
