Geo Poggenbeek belongs to the continued flowering of the Hague School. Student of the Academy of Fine Arts in Amsterdam and JH Veldhuize.Hij painted watercolors and the Dutch landscape in a dreamy tone to Willem Maris, Anton Mauve and reminiscent. In his time Poggenbeek garnered great success with his atmospheric depictions of the Dutch countryside - often intimate places with cow or duck in the ditch, under the shelter of a bush. Was a good watercolorist and etcher. Worked mostly in a clear, specific color green. During the period that he traveled with his painter friend Nicholas Bastert in Breukelen lived (1881-1887), he painted many Faces Fight He was teacher of JFC Scherrewitz.
