This imposing pair of candlesticks were made in the late 19th century circa 1880 for gas lighting. In the 20th century, they were converted to electricity with six arms on top with six lamps. The beautiful greek ladies holding the candlesticks are a very popular design in the late 19th century. The heads of the dogs looking to the ladies are unusual. The later added bases are made from grey coloured wood with black platforms.
