Italy, late XVIIth. Century, Louis XIV style.
A good pair of walnut armchais with slightly slanted backrest with arched crest rail and padded seat, flanked by scrolling open arms finishing in 'bec de corbin'. Raised on scrolled legs jint by 'H' form wavy stretchers called 'os de mouton'. The chair upholstered in fine woll Gobelin fragments (Aubusson) with large flowers and leaves. The condition of the upholstery is very good and fresh. The wood has a nice patina.
