A stunning pair of Louis Seize style Lapis Lazuli and silver plated gueridon tables with circular top and silvered border on double columnar supports, triangular plinth and on double foot, in the manner of Weisweiler

Trained in Roentgen’s workshop in Neuwied near Koblenz Weisweiler (1750-1810) settled in Paris, obtainihng his maitrise in 1778. The elegance of his Louis Seize style is typified by extremely slender legs. Weisweiler worked into the Empire period, producing several pieces of very high quality. His patrons included the Bonaparte family. The form of these two gueridon tables is first depicted in a contemporary drawing now in the Musée des Arts Décoratifs, Paris.

Lapis lazuli is a deep-blue metamorphic rock used as a semi-precious stone that has been prized since antiquity for its intense blue color
