arched brass dial with silvered chapter ring, centre with foliate scrolls signed Alex Rae Dumfries, foliate pierced blued hands and date pointer, foliate mask spandrels and well painted moonphase in the arch, 8-day weight driven movement with anchor escapement and rack hour striking on a bell, mahogany case with swan-neck cresting, pilasters flanking the glazed door, trunk with quarter columns and long shaped door, canted square base with applied panel with convex corners, the whole raised on bracket feet
