Unusual bronze from Blücher Fürst von Wahlstatt, circa 1810. Blücher became a major general in 1794. He became a lieutenant general in 1801 and commanded the cavalry corps during the Napoleonic Wars in 1806. Due to being outnumbered and lack of provisions and ammunition, he was forced to surrender at the Battle of Lübeck. More is known about Napoleon than about the people who defeated.
