Description

Case: brass, partly gilt, partly blued, black marble base, masoned wind mill, rotating wind mill vanes, hinged clock case, aneroid barometer, lateral thermometers with Reaumur and Fahrenheit units. Dial: silvered, radial Roman hours, gilt centre, blued hands. Movm.: circular full-plate movement, platform with ring balance and cylinder escapement.

An almost identical 'Pendule Industrial' is part of the permanent collection of the Palace Museum in Beijing and is illustrated in the exhibition catalogue p. 275 and in: Derek Roberts, 'Mystery, novelty and fantasy clocks', Atglen, Pennsylvania, United States, 1999, pp. 265 and 268.
