With the original Atmos clockwork. The drum of the clock contains a mercury- and gas tube. Changes in weather conditions in particular temperature causes volumes changes. This generates a thermic in the barrel. The fluctuations and rotations are collected and the energy is used to drive the movement continuously. It is therefore called Pendule Perpétuelle. The invention was made by a French engineer, Jean Leon Reutter.
