One piece case carriage clock with chronometer escapement. Signed Henry Robert à Paris, ca. 1840.
High quality fire-gilt case, enamel dial, movement with jumping seconds indication. Half hour striking with repetition on a bell, alarm clock.
This travel clock is of an ultimate quality. Henry Robert was active 1795-1854 and was a well-known and respected chronometer maker
who started working for Breguet and Perrelet.

About the maker (Information from Watch-Wiki).
Henry Robert, is born in Mâcon 1794. He was a clockmaker and author of several books on clockmaking. He worked for the famous clockmaker Breguet, Perrelet, and in 1831 for Henri Laresche. He took over Laresche's company in the Rue de Valois Au Palais-Royal Nr. 164. Afterwards he worked at various addresses, including in 1867 in the Rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré. Henri Robert became supplier to the queen, in 1834 and 1839 he was awarded a silver medal at the exhibition in Paris, in 1844 and 1849 he won a gold medal. In 1847 he was appointed Horloger de la Marine.
