A beautiful miniature renaissance wall clock, South Germany, ca. 1600.
Going train on balance wheel, striking mechanism on a bell, regulated by a countwheel, alarm on spring drum. All wheels of iron.
The case is provided with gilded panels, front and side doors of repoussé worked metal.
The round dial has Roman numerals I-XII and one hour hand. This clock is exclusive because of the early period in which it was made and because of its size.
Making a miniature clock was a challenge for the craftsmanship of the clockmaker.
