Description

In ancient Roman tradition, Titus Tatius, armed with his shield and sword, was the king of the Sabine settlement on the Quirinal Hill.

The clock is crafted from fire-gilded bronze and patinated bronze.

The clock mechanism rests on a column decorated with military insignia and drapery.

The whole stands on a rectangular base featuring a decoration of war motifs in low relief, a frieze with water leaves and four flattened legs.

This decorative pendulum clock is signed on the dial: ‘Labbe, rue St Honore no 252’, and features the original movement, with the pendulum suspended from a silk thread and striking mechanism for the full and half hours.
