The dial
The 6-cm wide enamel dial has Roman numerals and is signed Lepine Place des Victoires 2 Paris. The fleur-de-lis hands are made of blued steel. In the middle below is the alarm subsidiary.
The movement
The movement is driven by two spring barrels and is of eight day duration. It is regulated by a platform lever escapement in combination with a bi-metallic with adjustment screws. The clock strikes the hours and half hours by means of rack striking on a gong. The last hour is repeated when the repetition button on top is pushed. The clock has an alarm that can be activated by winding a small auxiliary spring barrel and setting the alarm time. The movement is signed Lepine à Paris No 26259.
The case
The gilt brass case is a variation of the gorge case with the horizontal mouldings being gadrooned. There is a handle and a large beveled glass panel op top revealing the escapement which is a lovely feature. All sides are fitted with beveled glass panels. The original travel case is with the clock.
