A Dutch mid-19th century Folk Art wall clocks so-called "schippertje". Such clocks were also used sailing on the canals in Holland in the 19th century. The posted frame weight driven time and strike movement has also an alarm mechanism. The unusual tail with the start motive is very popular. Hood covered with three miniature vases.
