Four French Empire cassolettes made of fire-gilt bronze, in the shape of a vase. Each vase appears to be suspended between three busts of young women, which extend downwards into the supports, each of which is decorated with counted money and a palmette leaf. The supports are slightly curved and taper towards the bottom, where they morph into three swan’s feet standing upon a tall gilt bronze base with a concave triangular shape. The supports are held together midway by a ring. Upon the vase-shaped body rests a separate openwork lid, which can be inverted to serve as a candleholder.
