Description
A lovely shaped Louis XV wall clock that was designed to hang directly on the wall, The bronze unusual case of the clock in a single unified organic sculptural conception in the Rococo style, with flowing symmetrical and curvilinear design, in fire-gilt bronze.

Below the clock case is 'Father Time' - the personification of time; above a young woman with a scythe.

The unclearly marked stamp with a probably tax mark the so called 'C' corrone'on the sunburst on top of the cartel. Lovely original mercury fire gilding. The movement 'go and striking on one single barrel' verge escapement silk threat suspension,Quarter repeating on demand. The early typical enamel dial with partly blue numbers signed Gilbert a Paris.
