Description

Very beautiful and completely original Louis XVI mantel clock on the backplate signed Le Roy Nantes, 1780. The 8 day movement is equipped with a Petite Sonnerie striking on three silver bells, something quite rare in French timepieces. The base is made ​​of oak, veneered with ebony. All in all a very beautiful and rare whole. Literature: The horlogier Nantes Le Roy is mentioned in the Dictionaire Horlogiers des Français, Tardy, pages 404/405.
