Description
Around the Easter feast, the church feast days are grouped in 16 scenes. The feast days are read from left to right and from top to bottom. In the first row are depicted the birth of the Mother of God, the presentation of Mary in the temple, the Old Testament Trinity with the New Testament Trinity above it, the Annunciation, and the birth of Christ. In the second row, one can see the presentation of Christ in the temple and the baptism of Christ in the Jordan. The third row shows the entry into Jerusalem and the Transfiguration on Mount Tabor. In the fourth row, one can see the Ascension of Christ and the Dormition of the Mother of God. On the bottom row are depicted the raising of Lazarus, the beheading of John, the Crucifixion of Christ, the fiery ascension of Elijah, and the Exaltation of the Cross. The four evangelists are depicted in the corners. In the margins, there are texts referring to the feasts.
