Description

A French Reutter patent Atmos clock, model T5, circa 1933, with a striking geometric design in chrome and glass. A curved chrome plate carries white arrow-shaped hands and the inscription ATMOS pendule perpetuelle. In front, a curved glass panel has a frosted square section with applied chrome hour markers. An aperture below reveals the large balance.

The mainspring is wound by a temperature-responsive mechanism. The balance has a thirty-second oscillation. The movement sits in a keyhole-shaped chrome case bearing a plaque inscribed BREVETS J.L. REUTTER S.G.D.G. MADE IN FRANCE, with an adjustment knob at the top. The assembly stands on a chrome base with a curved front.

Height: 30.5 cm.
