Coach Watch, also known as a Clockwatch, c. 1780. Signed Melly à Paris.
Strikes the hours and quarters on a bell every quarter of an hour. Also repeats the hours and quarters. Alarm mechanism. Movement with spindle escapement.
Silver repoussé case featuring, amongst other things, an image of Hermes. The exterior of the case is covered with stingray skin.
Dimensions: outer case diameter 14 cm, height 6.5 cm.
