Clock with an 8 day movement, petite sonnerie, calendar, moon phase, thermometer and barometer an ‘fly-back’ calendar indication. This attractive carriage clock is also signed on the dial by the retailer Tiffany & Co.
A highly complicated carriage clock, gilt-brass case anglaise with four Corinthian column, three push buttons to the top to adjust the month, moonphase and date. The dial with foliate engraved gilt mask and central Roman and Arabic chapter disc signed, blued steel Breguet-style hands. The dials below for mercurial thermometer, barometer and retrograde days of the week
The subsidiary enamel dials above for months, moonphase and calendar. It has a fine silvered lever platform escapement, twin going barrels, the strike on two gongs inside the base. Petite sonnerie rack planted on the backplate seen through a protective exhibition glass cover pierced with holes for winding and hand-set and position strike selection. Dimensions HxWxD: 19(handle down)x10,5x10 cm.

Fly-back calendar designation. What is meant with a retrograde time display?
Retrograde does not use a rotating pointer (clockhand), but a pointer that moves in a straight line from top to bottom or left to right. I.e. the pointer displays a linear time display instead of the circular one. Also called fly-back because of the bounce back. With this clock, the week calendar runs from Sunday - indicated by DIM (dimache) - to Saturday, indicated here by SAM (samedi). The hand jumps back at the end of Saturday - fly back - to Sunday.
