Gude & Meis Antique Clocks
A French Pendule Cosmographique, Mouret patent, circa 1885, combining an exposed clock movement, rotating terrestrial globe and annual calendar. The enamel chapter ring displays mean time, while a fixed pointer indicates the date and the meridian at which it is noon. A differential mechanism accounts for the equation of time. The eight-day movement has Brocot escapement and is signed J. Poncelet; the mechanism bears the plaque Pendule Cosmographique MOURET No. 15. The globe is signed Maison Delamarche, Rue Serpente 25 Paris. The clock stands on a black marble tazza base and retains its glass dome. Height 55 cm; clock diameter 28 cm.
