Description

Desk inkwell with clock and ringing bell. The clock in the form of a bird case, two entrances for the birds on both sides of the clock sheltering the birds. The partly gilt and silvered bronze case. The fox trying to catch the birds on the base. On the top of the clock a bell that you can ring to call the servant of the house. The "cow tail" timepiece movement, the nice enamel dial with blue numbers and thermometer on the stand of the bird case. The reservoirs for the ink and the sand are original. This is a very collectable item, circa 1860/ Germany/Austria
